19 of Medvedev's 21 victories have been earned on hardcourt

A resurgent the Russian player secured his initial title for over two years with success over opponent Moutet in the tournament title decider.

The athlete, a ex- world number one, has endured a torrid year, achieving just one match at the big events and suffering a meltdown at the New York tournament.

The player's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and issues with his service game in specific - caused him dropping out of the world's top 10 and finally separating with long-term coach Gilles Cervara.

Currently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually progressed in the past month - peaking in a closely contested competitive victory over opponent Moutet.

It is Medvedev's first title since the Italian tournament and initial on a hard surface from spring of the previous year.

The win also means the Russian has secured twenty-one titles at 21 distinct competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a tournament with my both daughters together, so to secure a trophy is especially meaningful," stated tennis professional Medvedev.

"This victory is in tribute of my second daughter her name, because the maiden victory I got when my first daughter Alisa was born was for her."

Medvedev, the past champion, had lost his previous six title deciders, including in that event previously this season.

The player's defensive approach and regular outbursts on court had caused observers to wonder if his ability to play at the top level was over.

Yet the player has altered his approach in the past month, striving to advance forward and perform positively, backed up by an improved service.

Medvedev fought back from a break down in the opening set against the challenging opponent, securing four of the concluding five games to go ahead.

Both players exchanged break points in the second set before Moutet, bidding for his first professional championship, took control to force a third set.

He defended four early opportunities in a competitive deciding set before Medvedev broke to that score to secure the win.

Suitably, Medvedev earned the title with a point at the front of the court, with the Frenchman failing to handle a volley after over two and a half hours.
